Sign Language Interpretation During Presidential Visit

Mr. Vishal Biswakarma, along with DISLI trainees Mrs. Sangay Bhutia and Mr. Puran Rai, provided Indian Sign Language interpretation during the visit of the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, to Sikkim.

The team interpreted during the Sikkim University Convocation Ceremony and the prestigious Presentation of the President’s Police Colour to the Sikkim Police held at Paljor Stadium in the presence of several dignitaries, including Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.

The President’s speech was also interpreted into Indian Sign Language, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for the deaf community. With the approval and support of the Director, CRC, the initiative was successfully carried out and marked a proud moment for CRC to contribute to such a prestigious national event.
