CRC Sikkim marks National Panchayati Raj Day’; PM’s Mann ki Baat interpreted in Indian Sign Language’
CRC-Sikkim, under the administrative control of NILD, Kolkata, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, celebrated National Panchayati Raj Day at its premises on Sunday, 26 April 2026.
The centre organized a live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s 133rd edition of Mann Ki Baat. Panchayat members from Assam Lingzey, including Zilla Panchayat member Ms. Suman Rai, Panchayat President Smt. Sita Sharma, and members Smt. Tika Maya Sharma and Shri Datup Bhutia, attended the event along with other community members. Smt Sita Sharma, Panchayat President thanked CRC for this program
where in the youth got an opportunity to be a part of this great initiative.
Pushpanjali Gupta, Director CRC Sikkim spoke on the contribution of Honourable Panchayat in the development of Assam Lingzey village and the support rendered to CRC Sikkim in fulfilling its objectives.
She informed that the program including the PM’s Mann ki baat was interpreted in Sign language by 2nd year students of Diploma in sign language DISLI course for the benefit of one Deaf person in the audience.
