13-12-2024: CRC Sikkim visit to Raj Bhavan Gangtok

Gangtok, December 13 2024:
As part of its mandate, the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, CRC Sikkim organised an exposure visit to Raj Bhavan today. The initiative formed part of the ongoing 70-hour Employability Skill Training Programme for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PwID) being conducted by CRC–Sikkim.
The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, extended his support to the programme, underscoring his commitment to empowering all sections of society. The Employability Skill Training for Persons with Disabilities is a flagship initiative of the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, aimed at equipping participants with essential skills to enhance employability and promote social inclusion.
The visit to Raj Bhavan—one of Sikkim’s prominent heritage landmarks—provided meaningful exposure and learning opportunities for the differently-abled participants. The Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, Jigme Dorji Bhutia, along with officials of Raj Bhavan, facilitated the tour and ensured an enriching experience. The programme concluded with a gracious high tea hosted by Raj Bhavan.
The members of CRC–Sikkim, Assam Lingzey, expressed their sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor for granting this unique opportunity and for his continued encouragement of initiatives that empower and uplift persons with disabilities. The exposure visit not only inspired the participants but also reaffirmed the importance of inclusive development in the state of Sikkim.
