22-12-2024 : Counseling for old age home residents

GANGTOK, December 22: Composite Regional Center (CRC) for Skill Development, Rehabilitation Empowerment of Person’s with Disability, Assam Lingzey organized counseling programme for the residents and staff of Old Age Home, Ranipool on Thursday.
Resource person Dr. Satish Rasaily (addiction medicine specialist), dental surgeon Dr. Anjalita and nurse Anamika Pariyar offered individual psychosocial assessment and counseling to 19 residents, informs a press release.
A significant proportion of residents were suffering from chronic mental (psychosis) and neurological (Parkinson’s, dementia, stroke) disorders causing long term mental disability. The team also prescribed medicines for emotional and behavioral problems, the release adds.
